With a giant LED screen, stage and plenty of seating, Grand Central offers shows, activities and entertainment at all hours. Nearby bars and eateries make it the kind of spot passengers will stop even if no activities are being offered at the time. Most of the ship’s restaurants are located aft on the Carnival Jubilee deck plan, with the ship’s Jubilee Theater forward. Rooms are located on every deck, except for decks 6, 7, 18 and 19. On decks that offer both cabins and public spaces, rooms are located at the front of the ship. Casual venues that serve a la carte menu items include Bonsai Sushi, Seafood Shack located next to the Street Eats stations on the Lido deck (get the lobster roll!), and Emeril’s Bistro 717 serving creole-inspired dishes.

At set times, you can head up one deck — via a staircase with a glittering blue wall that evokes the ocean, offset by a suspended school of swimming fish — to a kiosk that allows you to change the location. Conflicting styles that worked surprisingly well together were a theme that kept repeating on board. Carnival Jubilee is, after all, a throwback ship, designed to pay homage to some of the fleet's original vessels. For entrees, I ordered the chicken roulade and Don the jambalaya pasta. We then finished the meal with a key lime pie and melting chocolate cake. Afterwards, we attempted to catch the last quarter of the tailgate in Summer Landing, but it had seemingly ended as there was just some live music when we arrived. There were some inconsistencies between the Fun Times paper daily and the HUB app, so we’d suggest checking both if there’s an activity that you can’t miss. Comparing our experiences on Carnival Celebration last year, we really enjoyed the Most Magnificent Circus but Rio Carnival didn’t live up to that level.

Carnival Jubilee Bars and Lounges
In The Shores zone, an area of the ship inspired by beachside boardwalks and piers, passengers can grab a slice of pizza at Coastal Slice or order a panini or hot dog at Beach Buns.
